Just in case you come across strange looking comments with a suspicious link, I will keep my dA Phishing Warning journal entry up, because such a comment might be a phishing spam comment.

Well, April Fools day is over, at least in my country. My snowman symbol will be gone within a few hours. I somehow liked it. I failed at finishing my entry to the deviantMAP contest hosted by `Vlei. I struggled with flash and then was too tired the last days and I saw blurry again. _{And I also might have simply been too lazy.} Anyway: go and check his page, because he got some awesome entries to his contest. And I plan to put my original idea for that contest into practice, but I will have to learn ActionScript for doing this, which will take some time (knowing me).

=Sinister-Starfeesh was really quick and has already announced the winners of her Movie & Game Themed Emoticon Contest. I did offer her a journal feature for the winners. So here are the winning entries:

Even though these two contests have ended, there are several other contests still accepting your submissions:

my dA friend `shelldevil is hosting the ANIMAL MANIA CONTEST (you've got to scroll a bit down in her journal), which is splitted into 3 categories (one for each of her daughters ). The theme is about children and animals. You can make multiple entries, in fact to be eligible for the Grand prize you've got to enter in all three sections. The contest ends on 29th of April.

`Flutterings has teamed together with ^2dazed =evile33 ^PurpelBlur ^shebid and ^snowmask to offer you a very special contest. I'm talking of The [BOX] Competition. The idea is to take a 600 x 600 pixel square (like the downloadable template linked in the news article) and turn it into a wonderful gift for one of your friends on deviantART. Your entry must be submitted before 1st of May and you only can enter once, even though they encourage you to make several gifts for several of your dA friends and then choose one for the contest.

Also `karemelancholia, who is well known for her bimonthly contest newsletter, is the host of the Your Secret Garden Contest (look here for the news article). Deadline is May 2nd 2009.


And finally there is another nice contest open for beginner up to intermediate level artists. It's the The Creativity Contest, run by *my-dark-desire. It closes on June 30.
