Update December 17th
Even though the Kickstarter funding period is closed, you can still help Cyan to reach the second stretch goal "One additional world and Road Trip mode". And the best is, that by donating money you can still get some of the rewards (up to the $250 reward level) that they've offered via Kickstarter before. Read more about how to support them and about the rewards they offer for your donation on their website www.obductiongame.com
under the Tab "Get Obduction"
I've also added some artworks from a forum thread that I've created in the ThumbShare forum.
End of update...
A while ago I've browsed CassiopeiaArt
's page and read her journal about Cyan, the developer of the famous computer games Myst and Riven and their current Kickstarter Project to fund a new game called Obduction
. The Kickstarter project ends officially on Saturday Nov 16, 9:06am EST. So far, the base funding is reached, but they also want to reach the first stretch goal that will include Oculus Rift support and localization (to other languages besides English). Even after the Kickstarter officially ends, you will be able to support them by donation through PayPal (the link for this is in the FAQ section on the project front page.
Apart from Fable, Myst is one of the computer games I've always wanted to play. And soon I will finally start exploring the world of Myst Online or MOULa
. While lurking on that Kickstarter project page I was more and more fascinated by the community spirit of that company's fan base. They've turned the comment section into a chat room, developped press kits and all kinds of marketing and promoting strategies. Right now, they are celebrating the remaining hours of their Kickstarter project with various events like a livestream, a Google hangout, a party within Myst online and on Skype - you can read more about it in the latest update. If you would like to tell Cyan and their fans how the Myst and Riven games have impressed and touched you, you can submit your story to the fan website called www.thankyoucyan.com</
Here's some early concept art for the new game:

Now, hurry and pledge some money to this project and then ...
... either join their events or come back to look at these awesome fan artworks for Myst and Riven
And some more artworks from the Myst and Riven related forum thread
By the way, this Kickstarter project made me finally coming back to dA.
I've missed you.
